In order to improve the structure of the Soviet Union’s foreign trade, it is necessary to substantially increase the proportion of processed products in the entire export. Therefore, it is necessary to study the development trend of finished products and semi-manufactures in international trade. At present, finished products and semi-finished products account for about 79% of total international trade. The great changes have taken place in the capitalist world economy in the 1980s, which has a great impact on the development of products in the processing sector in international trade, especially as an important factor in the competitiveness of major exporters.
