In the 1990s, Japan’s innovation model was declining in software and biotechnology. But now it does, again, have something to do with robots, aerospace and other growing technologies. As Japan’s downturn in the stock market shows, if Japan is really lagging behind now, in which future will the Japanese companies win the global competition? Since the summer of 2005, more and more investors and wait-and-see People are asking this question, and there are more and more signs that Japan’s economic recovery is just around the corner. So this issue is both new and important. Fresh because the main questioning over Japan over the past 15 years is when it can get out of the deflationary debt panic.
