A neurosurgeon in Buffalo, USA, invented a computerized laser surgery that can remove inoperable deep brain tumors. Over the past three years, Patrick Kelly, director of neurosurgery at Charity Priestess Hospital, has automated lasers for more than 35 patients. The laser uses CT and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) information to depict the tumor boundary and vaporize it without destroying adjacent tissues. The surgeon only needs to do the following two things: 1 Provide information to the laser computer, that is, determine the location of the tumor on a CT scan: 2 Make an open pathway to the tumor. So far, the above treatment results seem very promising
