目前宇航员在太空飞行中尚有两大卫生健康问题没得到解决。其一,宇航员身体所散发的臭味无法通过空气交换而排除;其二,在失重状态下每天要从骨组织中丢失钙约200毫克,宇航时间过久可引起骨密度下降。前一种体臭污染仅限于宇航过程,返回地球后会自然消除。而后一种失钙问题,则需返回地球后长时间治疗才能逐渐恢复。
