On May 28th, the U.S. Army conducted a second flight test of the Experimental Top Sees Found (HOE) Interceptor on an out-of-atmosphere non-nuclear ballistic missile defense system. Militia I boosters carrying target missiles were launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, while the HOE interceptor was launched from Kwajalein on the Pacific Ocean 4,200 miles away. It is planned to intercept at 300,000 feet north of Kwajalein Island between Kwajalein Island and Wake Island. According to Army reports, interceptors “completed scheduled flight sequences” but “no scheduled intercepts were achieved” and the test results are being analyzed. HOE interceptors do not use terrestrial radar, and far away
