This article describes the modern walking beam furnace. The first part focuses on the development of stepping furnace technology. From the late 1960s to the present, stepping furnace replaced the pusher furnace with its unique superiority. The text list and figures show the current status of modern stepping furnaces worldwide development and the development of our country started stepping furnace situation. In the second part, we introduce the structure of stepping furnace with particularity. Burning Tsui layout and furnace evolution; step principle, institutions and their classification; beam on the block shape, layout and installation.
