The statistics of machine tool production and consumption of 31 countries in the world by Garadner Publication Inc. of the United States are as follows: In 1999, the world’s machine tool output reached 34.5 billion U.S. dollars, down 6.5% from 36.9 billion U.S. dollars in 1998. The country with the highest machine tool output in 1999 was Japan with a value of 7.7 billion U.S. dollars and Germany the second with 7.5 billion U.S. dollars.
