国内外现有工业雷管均装有起爆药。起爆药的冲击、摩擦、火焰感度高,使得雷管在制造,贮存、运装及使用过程中容易发生事故。这既不利于实现工艺自动化,而且每个火工品厂都必须建立起爆药车间,从而增加了建厂投资,也扩大了环境污染。为此,我们于1967年在实验室条件下,研制成装填于薄壁(1毫米)无缝钢管内的、无起爆药的瞬发电雷管;1970~1973年与804厂协作研制出冲压件装配的无起爆药瞬发电雷管和无起爆药火雷管;1979年又研制成无起爆药毫秒电雷管。
