形态:石竹科麦瓶草属多年生草本。株高20～30厘米,叶披针形。总状花序,小花粉红色。花期5～6月。习性:麦瓶草原产东欧,我国新近引种栽培。性喜阳光,亦较耐阴,适生温度12～28℃,不择土壤,但以排水良好的砂壤土生长较好。播种、分株繁殖。播种多在春、秋季进行;分株随时都能进行,新苗移植时,要给以适量基肥,豆饼、麻酱渣、鸡粪干均可。入冬前、开春后都要给予充足水分。麦瓶草叶丛茂密,花色艳丽,是优良的地被花卉,可植于道路两边美化环境,亦可植于江河岸边护坡,防止水土流失。剪取花枝可用作切花。
