Ultraviolet, visible and infrared absorption spectroscopy, spectroscopy such as fluorescence and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and in particular, various separation techniques such as HPLC have been increasingly used in drug analysis. However, chemical methods can increase the sensitivity, accuracy, precision, range and resolution of the analysis, and the important role that chemistry plays in modern physical analysis will be evident from the examples presented below. Analysis of Nadolol Beta-Adrenergic Blockers Nadolol is a mixture of two racemates (Figure 1) and it is necessary to determine the ratio
