Gaylord Nelson is a former Governor of Wisconsin, former Democratic senator, pioneer of modern environmental protection movement, and initiator of Earth Day. Nielsen is already one of the leaders in environmental protection in the world until environmental protection is universally valued. The launch of Earth Day came from one of Nelson’s ideas. In the 1960s in the United States, politicians were indifferent to environmental protection issues. Nielsen made public speeches on environmental issues in 25 states to persuade the then President Kennedy to make a five-day green trip in 11 U.S. states.
