1999 was an extraordinary year. During the year, the people throughout the country welcomed the 50th anniversary of the founding of the motherland and Macao returned to the motherland. The vast number of scientific and technological workers in the province also ushered in the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Jiangsu Provincial Association for Science and Technology. As the mass organizations under the leadership of the Jiangsu Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the people’s organizations under the leadership of the Party, our Jiangsu Provincial Civil and Architectural Society will actively implement the Provincial Party Committee with the idea of “science and technology are the primary productive forces.”
