加《医学邮报》第17卷第26期(1981年)报道伦敦消息:由于科学家们从受感染的血液中成功的找到了一种分离疟原虫的新方法,将有助于对疟疾的快速诊断并可加速抗疟疾疫苗研制的步伐。因为受感染者血中存在小量的寄生虫细胞而对疟疾难以作出诊断。这些寄生虫的浓度低也妨碍开展研究。目前,英格兰南部的南安普敦大学的一个研究小组同伦敦卫生学及热带病学校的一些科学家协作,成功地用磁体从血中吸取出疟原虫。为达到诊断和研究目的,采用了多种办法促使受感染的细胞集中。但直到目前取得的成功仍很有限。
Plus Medical Journal Vol. 17, No. 26 (1981) LONDON: As scientists succeeded in finding a new method of isolating Plasmodium from infected blood, it would help to speed up malaria Diagnose and accelerate the development of anti-malarial vaccines. Malaria is difficult to diagnose because there is a small amount of parasites in the blood of the infected person. Low concentrations of these parasites also prevent research. Currently, a team from the University of Southampton in southern England, working with some scientists from the School of Hygiene and Tropical Diseases in London, succeeded in using the magnet to extract the parasite from the blood. For diagnostic and research purposes, a number of approaches have been taken to bring the infected cells together. However, the successes achieved so far are still limited.
