1957年夏,中国科学院黄河中游水土保持综合考察队的中苏学者进行了鄂尔多斯、阿拉善东部和黄河中游河谷的自然地理研究。 在其它资料中曾广泛地收集了80多种风成砂、形成这些砂的基岩——白垩纪和侏罗纪砂岩、黄河流域古代和现代淤积砂的标本。 半数标本都曾在苏联全苏地貭勘探科学研究所(列宁格勒)沉积岩实验室作过矿物分析。
In the summer of 1957, Chinese and Soviet scholars from the comprehensive investigation team for soil and water conservation in the middle reaches of the Yellow River of Chinese Academy of Sciences conducted a study of the natural geography of the Ordos, eastern Alashan and the valley of the middle reaches of the Yellow River. Among other information, more than 80 types of aeolian sand have been extensively collected, forming bedrock of these sandstones-Cretaceous and Jurassic sandstones, and ancient and modern silt samples from the Yellow River basin. Half of the specimens were mineralized at the Sedimentary Laboratory of the Soviet Union’s Institute of Exploration and Research (Leningrad).
