As a British 19th-century educator, Matthew Arnold conducted a critical examination of British social culture and educational development from a cultural perspective. On the basis of defining the cultural connotation, he gave the special mission of culture and education. He pointed out that the purpose of culture and education is to cultivate a perfect personality and a sound mind, and focus the implementation of the goal of culture and education on the implementation of classical education.
