Based on CLEC and BNC, this paper uses the comparative analysis of interlanguage to explore the use of verbs by Chinese EFL learners and native speakers. The objective statistical results show that there are significant differences in the use of the word between English native speakers and Chinese learners, and Chinese students are overused. By setting the minimum frequency ≥ 5 and the MI value ≥ 3, it is calculated that it has significant collocations in both libraries and compares their similarities and differences. This article analyzes these collocations in terms of typical collocation, interlanguage collocation and abnormal collocation. The results show that Chinese learners use fewer collocations than native speakers, suggesting that the breadth and depth of Chinese learners’ words are not satisfactory. According to the take usage of collocations, it is found that Chinese learners prefer to use some generalized and ambiguous words while native speakers use more specific words. It is gratifying to note that learners have a good grasp of fixed collocations, with no significant difference between collocations and native speakers. This article also explores the possible reasons behind these differences and their implications for English learning and teaching.
