Objective To investigate the value of high frequency ultrasound in judging the vasodilation function in diabetic limb arterial occlusive disease. Methods Fifty-six patients with diabetic limb arterial occlusive disease and 30 normal controls were examined for brachial artery diastolic function by color Doppler sonography. Results The endothelium-dependent vasodilation of normal control group, ischemia group, dystrophy group and necrosis phase decreased in turn, and the differences among the groups were statistically significant. The non-endothelium-dependent diastolic function in necrotic group was significantly less than that in the other three groups. Conclusion High-frequency ultrasonography has important value in the detection of vasodilation in patients with diabetic limb arterial occlusive disease.
