In the Baokang Maqiao area of Hubei province, a set of strange monoliths, clinker stones and monoliths-clinker complexes have been produced in the Shijiazhong Formation of the Neoproterozoic Shennongjia Group. Among them, laminated rocks have scars that resemble the destruction of herbivores and boreholes. By analyzing the above configuration and features, these structures may be related to the activity of the metazoan, but they are not ruled out that they may be abiotic causes. These metazoans seem to have shown a high degree of developmental behavior. The current data suggest that there seems to be a close link between the clot structure and the ecological effects of herbivores and boreholes. In the history of biological evolution, the Cambrian explosion of life seems to be only a superficial phenomenon, as the older metazoans have no preserving power due to the lack of hard shell parts and suitable burial conditions.
