On a cold winter day, a fox told Mother Bear that he would teach her how to fish. As she wanted to learn, he took her to a hole in the ice, and told her to put her tail into the water.
　　一个寒冷的冬日，一只狐狸告诉熊妈妈他能教她怎样钓鱼。熊妈妈想学，狐狸就把她带到一个冰窟窿旁，告诉她把尾巴放进水里。

　　他告诉熊妈妈，将尾巴长时间的放在水里，过一段时间再拉出来时，就会发现上面粘满了鱼。

　　熊妈妈听信了狐狸的话。她将尾巴浸在水里坐了好长时间等着鱼来。但是当她试着将尾巴从水里拉出来时，却发现她的尾巴已经被冻在冰里了。
　　She called the fox to pull her out, but he laughed and ran away. So she had to call Father Bear to help her.
　　熊妈妈叫狐狸拉她出来，但是狐狸却笑着跑开了。她只好叫熊爸爸来帮她。
　　Father Bear came. He pulled and pulled with all his might (力量) until he got her tail out. But part of her tail was left in the ice. That is why bears have short tails.
　　熊爸爸来了，他使出浑身力气才把她的尾巴拉出了冰窟窿，但她的一段尾巴还是留在了冰里。这就是熊尾巴短的原因。
