This paper mainly discusses several problems in the selection of belt conveyor, analyzes the optimal matching of belt width and belt speed and the cost benefit of soft start. The effect of belt conveyor components on the overall machine cost is illustrated. Reducing the safety factor of the belt helps to reduce the cost of the belt conveyor.
