Businesses are relying on more data analytics to guide them on how to hire, recruit and promote employees. Xerox is screening tens of thousands of low-wage job applications at its call center. It uses software developed by Evolv, an innovative company, that automatically compares people’s application materials with a copy of the ideal employee’s computer file. The ideal data is generated from the selection of information from many employees’ work histories. It shows that having had experience working in a call center does not guarantee success at Xerox; a candidate is a “creative” person but can not be too fond of it; use one
