云南省磷矿资源极丰富,分布也广,除大量磷矿石供工业开采利用外,各地还分布有风化的含磷矿肥,以中部和东部地区埋藏量较大,利用较普遍,群众通称“点荞土”,又叫磷灰土、土骨头、土灰、硝土或岩界等。根据调查在曲靖区宜良县地区,不仅使用荞土的历史较久,而且以往每年有85%的农户利用荞土,并且反映荞土肥效好,增产显著。 荞土属沉积岩,风化程度好,物理性状良好,多呈灰、灰黄、浅黄、灰棕和黄红等色,一般不具结晶构造,疏松易碎,容易捣细。根据部分地区的分析结果,含全磷15—25%,含镁8—12%,含钙约50%,含氟化物很少,因此其全磷易转化为可给态磷,可以直接被作物吸收利用。
