“五四”新文化运动时期是我国与外国文学接触频繁时期,社会要变革,文学要革新,从而出现了对外国文学的强烈要求,这就出现了外国文学在中国的译介大潮。无数的外国文学被译介进来,当然包括英美文学。它们使当时的中国看见了另一个世界,更促进了新文化运动并给中国文学带来了深远影响。 During the period of the May 4th Movement, the New Culture Movement was a period of frequent contact with foreign literature in our country. In order to change the society and to reform the literature, there emerged a strong demand for foreign literature. This brought about the tide of translation and introduction of foreign literature in China. Numerous foreign literature has been translated into, of course, including Anglo-American literature. They made China see another world at that time, promoted the New Culture Movement and brought far-reaching influence on Chinese literature.
