随着经济全球化的快速发展,不同地域的文化交流日趋频繁,翻译研究的重点已经从纯语言角度转向到文化角度。语言是文化传播的载体,习语是语言发展的结晶,是语言词汇的核心组成部分和精华。中英两种语言中都拥有大量的习语。基于习语在语言中的重要地位,习语的翻译日趋引起了翻译界的关注,精准的习语翻译对跨文化交际起着极为重要的作用。但是习语翻译时,译者不仅要译出原语的本意,也面临着如何处理习语中文化因素的问题。文章目的在于从文化角度体现习语的文化特色,探讨了习语翻译过程中处理中英文化因素的具体策略—归化和异化,在这两种翻译策略的指导下,提出了英语习语翻译的一般方法。作者也希望本文中体现的原则和方法能为翻译提供一些有利的理论支撑。
With the rapid development of economic globalization, cultural exchanges in different regions are becoming more frequent. The focus of translation studies has shifted from a pure language perspective to a cultural perspective. Language is the carrier of cultural transmission. Idioms are the crystallization of language development and the core component and essence of language vocabulary. Both Chinese and English have a large number of idioms. Based on the important position of idioms in language, the translation of idioms has aroused the attention of the translators. The translation of idioms is very important for intercultural communication. However, when translating idioms, translators should not only translate the original meaning of the original language, but also face the problem of how to deal with the cultural factors in idioms. The purpose of this article is to show the cultural characteristics of Idioms from a cultural point of view, and to explore the specific strategies of dealing with Chinese and English cultural elements in Idioms translation - domestication and alienation. Under the guidance of these two translation strategies, I propose the translation of English idioms The general method. The author also hopes that the principles and methods embodied in this article can provide some favorable theoretical support for translation.
