In June 1998, Beijing’s First Intermediate People’s Court made a vowed promise to open the door of the court and opened the door for the public to freely listen to court hearings. From holding an ID card to freely access legal documents for arbitration cases at anytime and anywhere, from public media coverage to online court broadcasts, the Beijing No.1 Intermediate People’s Court broke through the judicial restricted area of “open trial” and practiced “In addition to the law, the case must be open trial ” constitutional principle. The continuous reform of Beijing’s First Intermediate People’s Court in the public trial system is leading the Chinese courts to move towards the “sunshine trial” era and push forward the course of democracy and legal system in China.
