“巴丹”即巴丹杏,中型落叶乔木或灌木,按照现代植物学分类,巴丹杏果树属蔷薇科(Rosaceae)李亚科(Prunoideae)桃属(Amygdalus L.),今称扁桃(Amygdalus communis L.)。巴丹杏种仁有苦、甜两种~([1])。《中国果树志·桃卷》扁桃条:“扁桃又名巴丹杏。……果核为食用的坚果。”~([2])巴丹杏原产于中亚和西亚地区,其野生种生长于土库曼斯坦、哈萨克斯坦、乌兹别克斯坦、格鲁吉亚、阿塞拜疆、亚美尼亚、土耳其、伊朗和叙利亚等中亚、小亚国家炎热、干燥的山坡地带。现新疆天山山区仍有野生扁桃
