6月27日,随同美国总统克林顿访华的美国卡特中心中国项目主任助理托马斯·克顿尔先生和美籍华人、卡特中心助理教授刘亚伟先生在国家民政部、湖南省民政厅、娄底地区民政局、双峰县民政局和档案局等有关领导的陪同下,考察了双峰县梓门桥镇光明村、东湾里村,永丰镇黄家村和蛇形山镇新洋村。每到一村,他们不听汇报,不看准备好的材料,而是径直走进村档案室,对各村的文书档案、会计档案,特别是村委会的选举档案进行考察。
