The use of roller compacted concrete for dam construction is an innovation of concrete damming technology and has been rapidly developed in the past decade. Since the 1970s, two types of RCC dams have appeared in the rapid construction of concrete dams abroad. One is the Roller Compacted Dam Concrete-RCD represented by Japan, and the other is the Roller Compacted Concrete-RCC represented by the United States, referred to as RCD and RCC for short. The difference between the two types of dam, so far the difference in construction methods, might as well be the difference in design thinking; RCD dam to comply with all conventional mixing
