The second 500kV line connecting the two substations of Limerick and Whitpain in Philadelphia (PECO) has invested over 19 million U.S. dollars. This line is necessary to ensure the high reliability of 500kV high voltage transmission line network. Adding such a fiber optic communication line can greatly save construction costs. This fiber optic link requires some efficient and reliable wiring to relay the 500 kV new line and future communications between the Limerick Power Station and the PECO headquarters in Philadelphia.
