Women with oral contraceptives (OC) are generally considered to have a lower pregnancy rate in the first 3 months after discontinuation, and return to normal thereafter. Another report of this low pregnancy rate can be sustained 4 to 10 months after withdrawal. Amenorrhea after oral contraceptives cases illustrate the possibility of delayed pregnancy after OC may be due to the combination of estrogen and progesterone OC in the hypothalamus, so GnRH, FSH and LH were inhibited without ovulation or ovulation defects.
