Objective: To study the content of trace elements in the seminal plasma and blood of infertile patients and to provide a theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility. Methods: The seminal plasma and zinc, iron, copper, calcium, magnesium and cadmium in 73 male and 265 male infertility patients were detected and analyzed. The differences of trace elements in blood and seminal plasma between the two groups were analyzed. Results: The content of zinc in seminal plasma and blood of infertile group was significantly lower than that of normal control group, and the content of copper and cadmium was significantly higher than that of normal control group (P <0.01). The contents of calcium, iron and magnesium in the two groups were close, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). The level of zinc in the seminal plasma of infertile group was significantly higher than that of blood, while the content of cadmium in blood was significantly higher than that in the seminal plasma, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: The changes of zinc, copper and cadmium in seminal plasma and blood are closely related to male infertility.
