Only applicants with a FICO credit score of 660 in Lending Club, the largest P2P platform in the United States, qualify for a loan and only have a 10% success rate. It shows that borrower attributes have a significant impact on the platform’s credit rating when borrowing money. In order to analyze this kind of influence, this article studies the influence of various attributes of borrowers on the interest rate to explore the P2P platform operation and risk control mechanism. The research shows that when the platform delimits the loan interest rate by measuring the borrowers’ properties, the loan amount and the total revolving quota have a greater impact. There is a preference for borrowers’ attributes at different interest rates, and a higher credit rating means more stringent attribute inspection. The results of this paper can be used by borrowers to predict the interest rate of self-lending, and also provide theoretical support for establishing a new loan interest rate pricing model and risk control system.
