Professor Huang Da, president of Renmin University of China, is one of China’s prestigious economists. At the end of April this year, Shanghai Fudan University should be invited to Shanghai to give lectures. During this period, he delivered a brilliant exposition on the contradictions and problems in China’s current economic operation. Professor Huang Da believes that China’s economy should achieve “non-critical operation.” The so-called critical point means that many economists regard the 20% inflation rate as the critical point for China’s economy to plunge into a vicious state. Coordination of Reform, Development and Stability Professor Huang Da pointed out that in the first quarter of 1994, the price increase of our country was very high with more than 20% in some areas. The high inflation has become a basic reality. Now the problem is not the focus of inflation pressure, the key is the society’s tolerance of this pressure. Some people think that at present China’s economy has come to a critical point, and some people recognize it
