As a metaphor for the Internet, the title of New Photography Show 2015, New York Museum of Modern Art “Image of the Ocean ” is very fitting. Every day we are wave after wave of images, gifs, online video waves of information washed into the same pool. This may be a dreadful situation: we are struggling in the ocean in order to seize the past habits, but for a new generation of photographers, the disaster is full of possibilities.
