天荒坪抽水蓄能电站１号上游输水系统是我国目前水头最高的大直径水工隧洞，一洞三机式布置，承受的最大静水头为６８０ｍ，充水分７个阶段进行，第１～第５阶段充水速率为１０ｍ／ｈ，第６、７阶段各分２个小台阶，充水速率为５ｍ／ｈ。排水分３个阶段，采用压力表和压力变送器共同监测水道内水压力。由于采取的充排水程序合理、措施得当，充排水试验获得了成功，水道设计、施工、安装质量经受住了初步考验。
