This article explores the many principles and benefits of using three-phase AC drives instead of series resistors instead of using additional moments of inertia. Using this method, the speed can reach 350 feet / minute. The second part of this paper discusses the mathematical basis for determining the necessary moment of inertia WR ~ 2.
