The endless creation of energy by millions of ordinary laborers is a firm guarantee for realizing the program of work for the prosperity of the socialist economy and culture planned by the party and the government. The CPC Central Committee pointed out to us in the message to the second All-Soviet Writers Congress that the creative labor of the people is the primary theme of Soviet art and literature. This should be the basis for measuring the achievements and shortcomings of our cinematic dramas and the entire cinema art. Recently, there has been an increase in the production of our films, the themes and styles of films have also become more varied, and films with more modern themes have become more popular. However, many of the film’s ideological and artistic level still can not meet the growing audience demand. Conflicts are not true, whitewashing reality, loosely structured play, full of lessons in tone, lack of distinctive Soviet image, or the shortcomings of these films.
