人文素质是指与特定社会人们社会生活相联系的思想意识、价值观念、道德理想、心理情感、思维方式、言行品格、生活习俗等品质的总称。一个人的人文素质不仅要经过一个学习积累、修养锻炼的过程,而且还会受各种因素影响而不断变化,它是这个人生存和发展的基础和前提。一我国中学政治课教学的内容和功能,完全能反映我国社会主义初级阶段的现实国情和对当代中学生的人文素质要求。它具有其他学科课程替代不了的作用。具体地说,我们认为有以下三个方面。(一)在政治课教学中加强人文素质教育,可以使中学生形成完整的知识结构和健全的人格。中学生的人文素质包括两个基本的部分:一是工具技能性的人文素质,它是指读书看报、学习认知、科技操作能力以及相关的知识和理论系统等。地理思想道德性的人文素质,包括世界观、人生观、价值观、道德观等。前者主要是解决一个人如何为社会服务的问题,后者则是解决为怎样的社会服务,即为谁服务的问题。这两个方面素质 Humane quality refers to the general meaning of ideology, values, moral ideals, psychological emotions, ways of thinking, words and deeds, and customs of life related to the social life of certain people.
