《唐令狐览墓志》志主五代祖令狐德棻,宜州华原(今陕西耀州)人,唐朝史学家,主编《周书》,参与编撰《梁书》《陈书》《北齐书》《周书》《隋书》《晋书》《南史》《北史》等。志主令狐览,史籍无载,以门荫补元陵挽郎,后步入仕途,从太子内局丞至同州长史,凡9任,以德著名,治亦有声;夫人河东薛氏,无子,有女4人。会昌二年(842年)冬因病终于京兆府鄠县封峦乡长乐里之郊,享年78岁。次年合祔于京兆府万年县鲍陂里夫人之旧茔。墓志详述令狐氏世系及志主令狐览一生,印证史实,补正史书缺漏,不仅是研究令狐氏家族的重要资料,也为研究唐代的门荫制度、挽郎问题提供了新资料。本文结合史料对墓志进行详实考证,对令狐氏之衍变也进行了论述。
