In the late 1970s, the National Comprehensive Team for Epidemiology and Etiology of Gastric Cancer visited Putian County in Fujian Province and found that the adjusted mortality rate of gastric cancer in Putian County was 2.7 to 4.7 times higher than the national average and it was a high incidence of gastric cancer in the country. In accordance with this, according to the provincial health department’s unified arrangement, a retrospective follow-up investigation of all causes of death in Xindu, Huangyan, Yanshi, and Dongqiao Township in Putian County will be conducted to compare the results of the annual survey.
