Objective To establish an electrophysiological study model of sexual arousal vaginal blood flow in female rats to determine electrophysiological parameters and study the influence of different stages of estrus cycle on vaginal blood flow. Methods Thirty female Wistar rats were divided into group A (n = 10) and group B (n = 20). A group of rats to stimulate the vaginal branch of the pelvis nerve (PNS), the use of BIOPAC MPl00 electrophysiometer measured different frequency current stimulation, vaginal blood flow changes (voltage 6V, pulse interval of 0.8ms, the duration of the stimulus for 30s, stimulation Intermittent period of 5 minutes, the stimulation frequency is set to 2.5Hz, 5Hz, 10Hz and 20Hz). Group B rats, vaginal smear determination of estrous cycle in different stages, PNS vaginal blood flow changes measured during different stages of estrous cycle vaginal blood flow differences. Results 10Hz current (6V, 0.8ms, 30s) PNS, the vaginal blood flow response is sensitive and has no effect on arterial blood pressure, facilitate the process of vaginal blood flow during sexual arousal. Fixed parameters PNS (6V, 0.8ms, 30s, 10Hz), estrous cycle in different stages of female rats vaginal blood flow peak area and under the curve showed no significant change (P> 0.05). Conclusion Female rats can be used as animal model of electrophysiological evoked vaginal blood flow to determine the fixed parameters of 10Hz, voltage 6V, pulse interval 0.8ms, duration of stimulation 30s for electrical stimulation. There was no significant difference in vaginal blood flow between PNS rats in different stages of the sexual cycle of rats, which is helpful to study vaginal blood flow in female rats during sexual arousal.
