今年是国际扫盲年。文盲现象是当今世界最严重的杜会问题之一。全世界15周岁以上的文盲约8.9亿(不包少年文盲)。这个庞大的文盲群体是愚昧和贫穷的产物,又是产生新的愚昧和贫穷的载体。它正在严重地影响着世界各国经济和杜会的发展。为此,早在1985年联合国教科文组织就根据世界各国,特别是发展中国家的文盲现状和扫盲工作进展情况,提出了到2000年在全世界扫除文盲的宏伟目标。1987年联合国教科文组织确定1990年为“国际扫盲年”。目的是促进世界与论更好地了解和关注扫盲问题,努力推动扫盲工作的进程。今年3月,联合国教科文组织在泰国曼谷召开世界全民教育大会,重点讨论研究举世瞩目的全民教育和扫除文盲问題。鉴于我国有2.2亿文盲,是世界上文盲最多的国家之一,扫盲任务十分艰巨,因此迫切需
