白芥子屬于十字花科蔬菜用植物,种籽做药用,有鎮痛、祛痰、止咳、下气等疗效;还可供工業上作榨油用。惟历史产量不高,亩产一般在七、八十斤左右。1959年春,我县药材培植場播种二亩,夏季收穫淨子368斤,平均亩产184斤,其中培养五分衛星田,经單收单打,收穫淨子154斤,折合亩产308斤,創造我县白芥子亩产有史以来的最高纪录,超过近年丰收的亩产八十斤的2.85倍。同时也打破了“白芥子亩产不能超
