“民以食为天”,“食以安为先”。我国是一个有着数千年悠久历史的农业大国,调整农业和农村经济结构,提高农业效益,增加农民收入和改善生态环境是现阶段农业和农村经济发展的首要任务。为了实现农业可持续发展,必须积极地开发我国水田农作物和畜禽相结合的农作系统和种养模式,而稻鸭共作的实质正是实现了水稻、水禽生产可持续发展的新途径。江苏省镇江市是国内较早与日本开展稻鸭共作技术引智、交流的地区,由镇江市水禽研究所参加“稻鸭共作技术项目”,以丹阳市嘉贤米业有限公司为生产基地,以“公司+农户”的形式生产无公害稻米和优质鸭肉,探索了一套符合中国国情的稻鸭共作生产实践,在发展安全生产、带动农民致富方面取得了一定的成效,被日本同行誉为“亚洲最成功的实践”。2004年2月24日-3月5日,本刊记者实地采访了镇江市农业科技局沈晓昆处长、镇江市水禽研究所戴网成所长、丹阳嘉贤米业有限公司谢桐洲总经理,采集了大量的一手资料和图片,对镇江稻鸭共作生产实践有了全面的认识和深入的思考。江苏镇江稻鸭共作生产成功运作,带给我们的启示是———
“Food is food to safety first”. Our country is a major agricultural country with a long history of thousands of years.
