随着科学技术的不断进步和人们环境意识的不断增强,社会各行各业在其生产活动中形成了大量的以胶片和磁性材料为载体的,以反映环境保护工作为内容的“环保声像档案”。这些特殊载体的环保声像档案,是档案的重要组成部分,与其它载体的档案相比,除具有共同点之外,还有形象、生动、直观等优点。在利用过程中,环保声像档案能把人的视觉,听觉同时调动起来并能加深人们对不同历史过程中环境保护工作的印象,这是其它载体档案无法比拟的。因此,加强环保声像档案的形成、积累、管理和利用工作是尤为必要的。
