三国时,孙权宴请文臣武将,亲笔在一头驴的脸上写下“此诸葛子瑜”以戏谑诸葛瑾(字子瑜)的脸长。诸葛瑾之子诸葛恪从孙权手中接过笔,在后面加上“之驴”二字。此举赢得满堂喝彩,孙权高兴地把这头驴赐给了诸葛恪。明代文士陈全误入宫禁重地,被宦官拿住。宦官久闻其大名,便刁难他:“你说一个字,若能逗笑我,便放了你。”陈全接口道:“屁。”宦官不解地问:“怎么讲?”陈全回答:“放也由公公,不放也由公公。”宦官笑得前仰后合,便放了他。
