The most common venereal disease is syphilis. Before liberation, the prevalence of syphilis in our country is very serious. According to statistics, at that time, the prevalence of syphilis was as high as 48% in some ethnic minority areas, from 4.5% to 10% in some big cities and from 0.5% to 3.8% in some rural areas. After the founding of new China, the party and government attach great importance to the prevention and treatment of STDs and take many positive and effective measures. In 1964, our government announced that basically no STDs were wiped out in mainland China. In the past ten years or so, with the opening up and the development of tourism, syphilis has resurfaced again and should attract people’s attention.
