河东乌麦526(2n=42)属半冬性,颖壳白、籽粒黑、硬质。富含天然黑色素、有机营养和多种微量元素,与白粒小麦晋麦21相比,其蛋白质含量高19.3%,脂肪含量高13.3%,磷含量高33.3%,赖氨酸、苏氨酸含量分别高33.3%和31.6%;与鲁麦14相比,硒含量高112.8%,碘含量高78.3%,铁、锰、钴等含量也分别高33.3%、34.4%和28%,而对人体有害的微量元素铅比鲁麦14低72.2%,氟未检出。1997年5月该品系通过山西省品种审定委员会组织的田间考察鉴定。
