江阴(黄田港)船闸为江苏省苏南主要航道一澄锡运河的咽喉。鉴于原闸尺度和通过量受限,已不能适应当前运输的需要。为提高通过能力和适应水运发展的需要,决定对江阴船闸进行扩建一座二线船闸的工程。 二线船闸选择在一线船闸西侧,两闸并列。船闸闸首口门宽12.4米,净宽12.0米,门槛最小水深2.5米,闸室宽16.0米、长98米,船闸全长124.0米
