Recently, the United Kingdom adopted a new foundation soil reinforcement technology. In the past, the wet soft soil was reinforced by wet vibration compaction. This wet method requires the use of 1363 litres/hour of water to maintain the shape of the drilled hole and to prevent the soil from plugging it, so that the stone can be poured into the hole to enhance the stability of the foundation. The disadvantage of this method is that construction water will greatly pollute the environment. The new method is a dry operation method. Not only does it not pollute the environment, but it is also fast, effective and economical. This method mainly uses a machine called Vibrocat (vibrating crawler tractor) to drill holes in the foundation to be treated, then pour the stones into the holes, and then apply vibrating pressure to the stones to form dense stone piles.
